Adaptive expertise is an important professional development goal for educators, focusing on continuous learning about responding effectively to students’ variability. As adaptive experts, we are ready to try new methods and observe their effects, share ideas with colleagues, and make changes that improve our students’ success.

UDL is a valuable framework for developing adaptive expertise because it supports our designing learning environments for students with variable interests and abilities, expanding our teaching strategies, and refining our approaches for different situations. To strengthen our dialog with each other, this online community includes more resources about adaptive expertise and UDL to expand our thinking as well as discussion platforms for sharing our ideas and work.
